Q. Do I have to leave my estate to Wesley Towers?
A. Some have thought this to be the case, but it is not true. Residents living in the apartments or assisted living pay a month to month rent. Those living in health care pay a daily rate dependent on their level of care. Those living in a duplex, heritage home or patio home either pay a monthly rent or "loan" Wesley Towers the moneys for the unit and then dependent upon which plan they choose, part of their "loan" is returned to them or their estate.

Q. What if I outlive my financial resources?
A. One of the advantageous to a nonprofit facility is that financial assistance may be available. As part of our admission process, we do require a financial profile be completed prior to admission. If a resident does outlive their financial resources, Wesley Towers is Medicaid certified in the health care areas.

Q. What type of lease do I have to sign?
A. Renting a duplex or patio home requires a one-year lease. All other areas have month to month rent. As stated in our Resident Agreement Contract, we do require a 30-day notice if someone wishes to move out of our facility.

Q. May I bring my own furniture?
A. Yes. Residents may bring whatever furniture will comfortably fit in their apartment, duplex, patio home, heritage home, assisted living suite, health care or special care center room.

Q. What security measures do you take?
A. Night security patrols the streets and walks the halls throughout the entire campus from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM. We also lock all outside doors by 9:00 PM; some are locked earlier.

Q. What if I am having guests for a meal?
A. Just let our Communications Center know how many will be at your table and in which area.

Q. What if I have family or friends coming to visit. Do you have guest accommodations available?
A. Periodically, we have guestrooms available in the Towers. You may reserve rooms through the Communications Center.

Q. Does Wesley Towers have staff to help with a move to a duplex, heritage home, patio home, apartment, or health care?
A. Wesley Towers provides flatbed carts located in the Towers basement. We do not have staff available to help move in furniture. You will need to hire a mover or have friends help.

Q. Do you provide storage?
A. Yes, in Asbury apartments, Wesley Manor and the Towers. Storage cages come with the apartments and residents furnish the padlock.

Q. May I cash checks?
A. Yes, for $50.00. If you wish a larger amount, please notify the Communications Center at least one day in advance.

Q. Will I ever get an answering service when I call Wesley Towers?
A. Absolutely not!!! Our Communication Center is manned 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM. After 10:00 PM all telephone calls to Wesley Towers go to the Thorne Care Center nurse's station.

Q. Do you have pre-authorized payments?
A. Yes. See our Vice President of Finance for this service.

Q. What postal services does Wesley Towers provide?
A. The Communications Center sells stamps, wraps packages and weighs them for you. We cannot insure packages that are mailed. You may also receive packages at Wesley Towers.

Q. If my loved one's condition changes, who is notified and who decides if they are sent to the doctor?
A. The persons listed on the application for admission to be notified will be contacted in the order listed with a change of condition. The nurse makes a judgment call as to when the doctor is notified, and then we follow the physician's instructions.

Q. Do you offer outpatient therapy?
A. Yes, through our therapy department we offer physical, occupational and speech therapy. For residents who return from the hospital to the nursing home and are classified as "skilled", Medicare Part A pays for their therapies. For those living in the community or on the Wesley Towers campus receiving outpatient therapies, Medicare Part B is billed.
